The Wildcats traveled to Falmouth on Friday night to take on the Wildcats of Pendleton County in the first district game of the season.
The score was tied 6-6 at the end of regulation. However, Bath County’s Landan Swartz went around the right side for a ten yard TD run on the first snap of overtime to put the ‘Cats up 12-6. As it had for most of the night, the defense kept Pendleton out of the end zone and the Wildcats of Bath County escaped with a 12-6 victory.
The Wildcats’ defense limited Pendleton County to 93 yards of total offense, with Connor Jewell (22 tackles) and Mason Compton (16 tackles) leading the way. The “D” also picked off 3 passes on the night, with Ryan Leach credited with 2 interceptions.
Offensively, the ‘Cats were led by Lane Rogers and Ty Rogers, with both rushing twelve times for 73 and 70 yards respectively. Landan Swartz rushed for 39 yards and the two BC scores on 7 carries and also picked up 80 receiving yards.
The Wildcats will travel to Olive Hill on Friday night for a game with the Comets of West Carter.
