Multiple Teams · Boys and Girls Baskeball Opens District Play vs. Menifee County Friday Night


The Bath County Boys and Girls Basketball teams open up 61st district play at home Friday night with the Menifee County Wildcats.

The Wildcats (2-2) are coming off a nice 19 point victory at Fleming County as 5 players scored in double figures while outscoring the Panthers in every quarter of the game.

Senior Jacob Mitchell is averaging 23.7 points per game and is 110 points away from joining the 1,000 point club for his career.

Junior Bryce Williams is coming off his best game as a Wildcat, knocking down four from behind the arc while scoring 19 points.

Menifee County is 2-1, having beaten Raceland and Owsley County.

The Girls Basketball team (0-5) hasn’t gotten off to the start they wanted but are battling every night out. The Lady Cats are dealing with several key injuries as the rest of the team is trying to pick up the slack. The best outing of the season was a hard fought loss at Fleming County as Coach Newton’s team lost by 10.

Sophomore McKenna Moore is leading the team in scoring with 18 points per game.

The Menifee County Lady Cats are 4-0 on the young season.

All the action starts at the Bath County High School Gymnasium with the girls game tipping off at 6pm.
