The Bath County Wildcats will open the 2018-19 season with the Clark County Cardinals at 7:30pm in the BCHS Gymnasium.
The Cardinals, ranked #7 in the state preseason according to Kentucky.com and the favorite to win the 10th region championship, will be a tall order for the Wildcats.
Josh Cook’s Clark County squad is led by senior Jordan Graham, who is ranked as the 10th best player in the state by the Kentucky High School basketball coaches.
The Wildcats are coming off their best season in 7 seasons, having the most wins since 2011 with a 16-15 record, and included an overtime loss to Raceland in the 16th region tournament. It was the first regional tournament appearance by the Wildcats since 2009.
Coach Bart Williams returns a vast of experience with seniors Spencer Pergrem, Jake Porter, Chandler Otis, and Austin Reed. Also look for a lot of contribution from juniors Brooks Williams and Evan Lyons.
In the two schools last meeting, GRC defeated the Wildcats 80-48 in Winchester during the 2016/17 season.
