The Morgan County Cougars had a big night on the boards as they powered past the Bath County Wildcats for a 90-70 win in Owingsville Thursday night.
After the 1st quarter Morgan County led 26-20 and didn’t look back outscoring the Wildcats by 14 the rest of the night.
The Cougars outrebounded the Wildcats 47-27 which led to 19 second chance points and ended up being the difference in the contest.
Morgan County was led in scoring by Jake Helton with 28 points. Blake Evans added 23 points with 15 of those coming from behind the arc.
Bath County was led in scoring by Spencer Pergrem with 13 points. Chandler Otis finished with 11 points and Jake Porter added 10.
The Wildcats dropped to 0-2 on the season and the Cougars improved to 2-0.
Bath County will be back in action Saturday night as part of a boy/girl doubleheader with Rowan County. The girls game begins at 6pm and the boys will start around 7:45pm.
