Boys Varsity Basketball · Wildcats Couldn’t Do Moore as Rowan County Pulls Out 76-70 Win


The Bath County Wildcats couldn’t overcome the hot shooting of Rowan County’s sophomore transfer Mason Moore as the Vikings took the early 61st district lead with a 76-70 win Saturday night in Owingsville.

The Paintsville transfer was 14-18 from the field and 4 for 7 from behind the arc as he poured in 37 points to improve the Vikings record to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in the district.

Bath County was led in scoring by Chandler Otis’ 19 points. The senior was 8 for 12 from the field and grabbed 5 rebounds.

Brooks Williams had 13 points on 4/5 shooting from the 3pt line. Jacob Patton added 10 points.

The loss dropped the Wildcats to 0-3 and 0-1 in the district.

The Wildcats will travel to Fairview Tuesday night for the consolation game of the EKC.

Junior Varsity begins at 6pm. Varsity starts at 7:30pm.
