Boys Varsity Basketball · Dan Swartz Classic Game 1 Preview: East Carter Raiders vs Adair County Indians


The first game of the Dan Swartz at the Bath County High School Gymnasium will be the East Carter Raiders vs. the Adair County Indians on Thursday, December 27th at 3pm.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since the KHSAA has kept online records (1997-98).

East Carter, the runners-up in last year’s Bath County Invitational (CSI Classic), are currently 0-6 on the season. Their losses have come at the hands of Elliott County, West Carter, Morgan County, Capital (WV), Lewis County, Mason County, and Lawrence County.

The Raiders, coached by Brandon Baker, return senior Jordan Brooks who was a 2 time Player of the Game in last year’s tournament.

Adair County, from the 5th region, is currently 3-4.

The Indians have wins over Cumberland County, Green County, and Campbellsville. Their losses have come to Paducah Tilghman, John Hardin, Marion County, and Taylor County.

The Indians, coached by Deron Breeze, are led in scoring by Anthony Payne with 19.7 points per game. Jordan Simpson adds 11 a game.

Breeze coached at Bath County from 2010-2012 and left with a 25-32 record.
