The Dan Swartz Classic kicked off today as 4 teams advanced to Friday’s semifinals at the Bath County Gymnasium.

East Carter, Johnson Central, Lewis County, and Anderson County all had wins to continue the quest to be the Dan Swartz Classic Champion.

East Carter had a big day from Jordan Brooks as the Raiders outlasted a gritty Adair County team 77-64.

Brooks was named the Player of the Game as he scored 30 points and 9 rebounds to pace the 16th region squad. Treven Tussey added 15 points.

Adair County was led in scoring by Anthony Payne’s 18 points. Jordan Simpson had 17.

Johnson Central coasted over Russell 81-61 in the 2nd game of the day.

The Golden Eagles were paced in scoring by Cory Vanhoose’s 20 points. Jacob Rice was named the Player of the Game honors with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. Isaiah May added 19 points.

Russell’s Tristan Miller led the Red Devils with 21 points.

In the third game of the day, Lewis County beat Estill County 82-59.

Lewis County’s Tanner Willis, the Player of the Game, scored 13 points, hauled in 6 rebounds, dished out 7 assists, and had 2 steals. Seth Wright led the team in scoring with 17 points.

Estill County was led in scoring by Joe Benton’s 21 points. Dyllon Long had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

In the night cap, Anderson County beat the host Bath County 65-58.

Anderson County’s Jagger Gillis had 16 points to earn Player of the Game honors. Alex Carpenter and Tyler Rice each added 12 points.

Bath County’s Chandler Otis led all scorers with 25 points. Jake Porter added 13 points and 8 rebounds.
