Boys Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · Bath County Hosts Fleming County for Important Girl/Boy Doubleheader

The Bath County Wildcats and Lady Cats host Fleming County in a girl/boy doubleheader tonight at the BCHS Gymnasium in Owingsville.

The Lady Cats (9-6) tip off the doubleheader beginning at 6pm vs. the Lady Panthers.

The Lady Cats lead the season series 1-0 when they beat Fleming County 63-49 on December 14th.

Coach Mark Collier’s club can almost clinch a match up with Menifee County in the 2 or 3 seed game in the 61st district tournament at Rowan County with a victory over the Lady Panthers who are 0-3 in the district. The Lady Cats are currently 2-2 in district play.

Senior McKenna Moore is averaging 17.3 points per game to lead the Lady Cats in scoring. Abbie Henderson is second with 11.3 ppg with a team leading 7.7 rebounds per contest.

Fleming County (2-13) has not posted any stats to the KHSAA site but they were led in scoring by sophomore Sidney Argo’s 18 points in their last meeting with Bath County. Krishani Jackson finished with 17 points in that contest.

The Wildcats (7-10) will battle the Fleming County Panthers (8-9) beginning approximately 7:45pm.

The Panthers are up 1-0 on the Wildcats in the season series. They defeated Bath County 64-59 in overtime in Flemingsburg on December 14th.

Coach Bart Williams’s team is still fighting for seeding in the 61st district tournament as all four seeds are still officially undecided.

Bath County is led in scoring by Chandler Otis with 12.6 points per game. Jake Porter is averaging 12.4 points and a team leading 7.7 rebounds a game.

Fleming County is led in scoring by Cole Saunders with 16 points per game. Kaleb Flannery is averaging 13.1 points. Jayston Taylor leads the team with 4.6 rebounds per game.
