Boys Varsity Basketball · Great Start Ends at Half as Vikings Cage Wildcats 62-37


The Bath County Wildcats had a great start but just couldn’t continue it in the second half as the Rowan County Vikings stayed undefeated in the district with a 62-37 win.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 13-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Vikings battled back to go to the halftime locker room leading 27-22.

The second half wasn’t as competitive as the previous as Rowan County dominated the scoreboard outscoring Bath County 35-15 to complete the final 25 point spread.

The Wildcats dropped to 11-15 and 2-4 in the district after the loss. Rowan County improved to 21-2 and 6-0 in the 61st district.

Chandler Otis led the Wildcats in scoring with 16.

Brady Madden finished with a game high 17 points and 13 rebounds for Rowan County.

The Cats will try to get back on track Thursday night at home when they play Ashland with the Junior Varsity beginning at 6pm.
