The Bath County Wildcats battled for all four quarters but just couldn’t take care of the ball enough as they went down to Ashland 65-57 Thursday night in Owingsville.
The game was tight throughout as the largest lead of the night was the final score as the Wildcats and Tomcats exchanged baskets through 3 quarters of play. Ashland led 44-43 at the end of 3 and capitalized on a couple of timely turnovers in the 4th quarter that Bath just couldn’t overcome.
The Tomcats were led in scoring by Ethan Sellers, Devaunte Robinson, and Ryan Bryant who all had 12 points a piece.
The Wildcats were led in scoring by Jake Porter with 22 points. Chandler Otis finished with 16.
Bath County dropped to 11-16 on the season while the Tomcats improved to 12-12.
The Wildcats will be back in action Saturday night vs. West Carter, with the JV starting at 6pm. Senior night festivities will begin before the varsity game so make sure and get there early.
