Girls Varsity Track · TRACKCATS Named All-Area 7


The BCHS TRACKCATS Girls finished 6th and the Boys 8th at the Kentucky Track & Cross Country Coaches Association (KTCCCA) Area 7 meet on Friday evening contested at Rowan County

The KTCCCA Area 7 Meet included fourteen teams from across eastern Kentucky

The Ladies from Ashland Blazer and the Gentlemen from Russell High School are the 2019 Area 7 Champions.

 

All-KTCCCA Area 7 Team

Sophomore Amelia Oldfield is the 2019 Area 7 Champion in the 400 Meter Dash finishing at 1:02.16

She finished 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash with a 28.00 and was the anchor on the 11:06.12 4×800 Meter Relay Team

Junior Isabella Copher broke the 3200 Meter Run School Record for the second week in a row finishing her race in 12:24.49

Isabella also place 4th in the 1600 Meter Run with a 5:39.95 and was the first leg on the 11:06.12 4×800 Meter Relay Team

Junior Kaylee Staviski cleared 7-00.00 in the Pole Vault to finish 3rd and also ran the first leg of the 4×100 Meter Relay.

Senior James Overholser finished 2nd in the 3200 Meter Run crossing the line at 10:42.70. James also finished 7th in the 1600 Meter Run at 4:57.22, 7th in the Pole Vault at 8-06.00 and was the first leg of the 4×800 Meter Relay Team that finished with a 9:13.82 at 5th Place.

Junior Taylor Purvis finished with a Vault of 11-00.00 to finish 3rd in the Pole Vault He also competed in the High Jump clearing 5-02.00

4×800 Meter Relay: James Overholser-Caleb Bowen-Sammy Bodine-Hunter Middleton (4)

Triple Jump: Sammy Bodine (3), Jacob Easton (7)

    

The TRACKCATS next meet is the TRACKCAT Cool-Down on Saturday May 11 at the TRACKCAT Complex

The Region 7A Track & Field Championship will be May 18 at the TRACKCAT Complex
