Girls Varsity Track · TRACKCATS Compete at KHSAA State Meet

The BCHS TRACKCATS Girls finished 15th and the Boys 38th at the KHSAA Class ‘A’ State Track & Field Championship Meet held at the University of Kentucky

Louisville Holy Cross Boys and the Beechwood Girls were the State Champions.

The Girls sent 8 Individual Events & 2 Relay Teams while the Boys sent 4 Individual Events & 1 Relay Team to the Championship

–4x 800 Meter Relay–
The Girls Team of Isabella Copher, Mallory Brashear, Jaycie Bussell, and Abby Henderson finished 16th in a time of 11:19.85.
The Boys Team of James Overholser, Hunter Middleton, Sammy Bodine, and Caleb Bowen finished 14th in a time of 8:59.15


–1600 Meter Run–
Isabella Copher finished 11th in a time of 5:42.41.
Caleb Bowen placed 17th with a 4:54.91
James Overholser was 19th crossing the line at 4:58.92


–400 Meter Dash–
Amelia Oldfield finished 3rd in a time of 1:00.83 establishing a new Personal Record and picking up 6 points

–800 Meter Run–
Abby Henderson finished with a 17th Place 2:41.01

–200 Meter Dash–
Amelia Oldfield finished 13th in the 200 Meter Dash in a time of 27.76
Quentin Lewis qualified for the Meet but could not compete because of an injury

–3200 Meter Run–
Isabella Copher finished 4th in a time of 12:07.77 earning 5 points and for the third time this year established a School Record
James Overholser finished 15th in a time of 10:40.25 establishing a new Personal Record

–4×400 Meter Relay–
The Team of Amelia Oldfield, Mallory Brashear, Jaycie Bussell, and Abby Henderson finished 22nd with a Season’s Best time of 4:46.83.

–Pole Vault–
Kaylee Staviski placed 13th in the Pole Vault event matching her PR clearing 7-00.00.
Taylor Purvis placed 8th scoring .25 points with a height of 11-00.00 to match his current PR


–Shot Put–
Madelyne English threw 29-10.50 to place 15th.

–Discus Throw–
Madelyne English recorded a Throw of 113-09.00 and was the KHSAA Class ‘A’ State Runner-Up claiming 8 points.

Team Alternate attending the Meet were Jenna Copher, Jessica Gray, Kelsey Ostrom, McKayla Hatfield, and David Walden

Team members attending were Gabbi Hill, Jenna Cassady, Christa Stump, Luke Howard, Owen St. John, Jacob Easton, Gracie Lewis, and Gracie Shannon

Madelyne English, Abby Henderson, Kiki Howard, James Overholser, and Caleb Bowen have completed their Interscholastic Careers. Madelyne will attend Georgetown College. Abby will attend Eastern Kentucky University. Kiki will attend Maysville Community College. James will attend Kentucky Christian University, and Caleb Morehead State University
