Girls Varsity Track · TRACKCATS Girls Place 15th at KHSAA State


After finishing 2nd in the Region 7A Championship and qualifying in 10 Events the BCHS TRACKCATS Girls placed 15th in the Class ‘A’ KHSAA State Track and Field Championship held in Lexington at the University of Kentucky Track & Field Complex. Forty Three schools accumulated points in the Championship with Beechwood claiming the Title securing 48 points.

The Girls sent 8 Individual Events and 2 Relay Teams to the KHSAA State Track & Field Championship

The 4×800 Meter Relay Team of Isabella Copher, Mallory Brashear, Jaycie Bussell, and Abby Henderson finished 16th in a time of 11:19.85. This was Isabella’s 4th and Abby’s 3rd trip to the State Meet competing in the 4×800

Isabella Copher finished 11th in the 1600 Meter Run in a time of 5:42.41. This was her 3rd time running the 1600 at the State Championship

 

Amelia Oldfield finished 3rd in the 400 Meter Dash in a time of 1:00.83 establishing a new Personal Record and picking up 6 points. She also competed in the 400 at last year’s State Meet

 

Abby Henderson running her last individual race as a TRACKCAT finished with a 17th Place 2:41.01 in the 800 Meter Run. Abby also made the State Meet in the 800 in 2016

 

Amelia Oldfield finished 13th in the 200 Meter Dash in a time of 27.76  

Isabella finished 4th in the 3200 Meter Run, to claim a spot on the Awards Stand, in a time of 12:07.77 earning 5 points.  This also marks the third time this year she has established a 3200 Meter School Record

The 4×400 Meter Relay Team of Amelia Oldfield, Mallory Brashear, Jaycie Bussell, and Abby Henderson finished 22nd with a Season’s Best time of 4:46.83. Amelia and Abby competed in the 4×400 at last year’s State Meet. Jaycie competed in the 2×50 Meter Mixed Unified Relay in 2018

    

Kaylee Staviski placed 13th in the Pole Vault event matching her PR clearing 7-00.00. This was Kaylee’s 2nd trip the State Pole Vault competition

 

Madelyne English competing in her last high school meet threw 29-10.50 in the Shot Put to place 15th. Madelyne has competed in the State Meet in the Shot Put for 3 straight years

Madelyne recorded a Discus Throw of 113-09.00 and was the KHSAA Class ‘A’ State Runner-Up claiming 8 points. In 2018 Madelyne placed 4th in the Discus and 5th in 2017 at the State Meet

 

Team Alternate attending the Meet were Jenna Copher, Jessica Gray, Kelsey Ostrom and McKayla Hatfield

TRACKCAT SENIORS

Madelyne English and Abby Henderson have completed their Interscholastic Careers. Madelyne will attend Georgetown College and Abby will attend Eastern Kentucky University this coming Fall.
