Wildcats News · BC Anglers Compete at Pickwick Lake Alabama

There were two events held recently on Pickwick Lake in Alabama, with three Bath County Bass Fishing Team boats participating

One event was the FLW High School Nationals for which teams had to qualify in prior events

Spencer Pergrem and Jacob Conyers qualified from BCHS along with 215 other boats from across the United States

The other event was the FLW Worlds Open.  Any teams that were members of the Student Angler Federation could fish that event

Three BCHS Teams opted to participate in that included Spencer Pergrem and Jacob Conyers; Maycee Lyons and Griffin Fraley; and Mason Lyons and Carson Vice

They fished that event with 389 boats from across the US and the world with boats from Zimbabwe, England, and Canada participating

After two days of the FLW High School Nationals, Spencer and Jacob ended up in 67th place of 215 boats.

After Day 2 of the FLW Worlds Open, they were in 107th of 389 boats

Day 3 proved a little tougher as they ended the day 123rd place

Fishing Pickwick Lake for the first time, the boys were very happy with all of their results, weighing in the three fish limit each day

The Seniors fishing their last high school event both plan to participating with the Morehead State Fishing Club this fall.

At the end of Day 2 of the FLW Worlds Open event, Maycee Lyons and Griffin Fraley placed 261 of 389 boats

Carson Vice and Mason Lyons placed 282 of 389 boats

The Anglers represented Bath County well

The BCHS Bass Fishing Team has been able to participate in many events during the short two and a half years of existence

The Members would like to take this opportunity to thank the coaches, sponsors, Bath County School system, parents, and the boat captains for their support which makes these experiences possible

We look forward to hearing more from our Anglers and enjoying new adventures in the coming seasons
