Bath County Football’s Quentin Lewis and Dalton Nelson had big games Friday night and they were noticed as two of the top performers of the week in the area.
The Daily Independent’s Aaron Snyder writes a weekly column called the Monday Morning Quarterback where he gives helmet stickers for the top performers of the week.
Lewis was given the highest honor of the week with 3 stickers and Nelson received 2.
•Four: None. Hey, this is no knock on anybody. Actually, one may look at this in a completely positive manner. So many coaches and players take the first week or so to figure out who will properly fill what roles, which means nobody is hogging the spotlight in any way. While there were a number of worthy four-sticker candidates, the QB decided three would be the maximum this week.
•Three: Eli Sammons (Greenup Co.), Keontae Pittman (Ashland), Blake Hester (Ashland), Braden Hicks (E. Carter), John Walker Phelps (Paintsville), Kaleb Flanery (Fleming Co.), Quentin Lewis (Bath Co.).
•Two: J.T. Garrett (Ashland), Jake Hyden (Paintsville), Dalton Nelson (Bath Co.), Jonathan Maher (Fleming Co.), Micah Adams (E. Carter), Nathan Conley (Russell), Dayne Lawson (Boyd Co.).
•One: Andy Layne (Ashland), Baden Gillispie (Lawrence Co.), Jack Roy (Fairview), Ashton Block (E. Carter), Terrick Smith (Fairview), Malakai Anderson (Russell), Tanner Weaver (Fleming Co.), David Keen (Lewis Co.).
