The Cross Country Girls captured the Region 7A Championship hands down scoring 29 points.

The Boys placed 3rd with 74 points behind Pikeville and Elliott County.

Senior Isabella Copher is the 2019 Region 7A Champion finishing the race in a time of 20:47.25.


Senior Taylor Purvis led the way for the Boys finishing 7th in a time of 18:43.58.


Earning First Team All Region 7A Honors for the Girls in the 5K Race was the Meet Champion Isabella Copher, 4th Amelia Oldfield (22:10.73), 6th Jaycie Busell (23:29.74), and 8th Madison Mabior (23:40.50).

Earning First Team All Region 7A Honors for the Boys in the 5K Race was Taylor Purvis.


Rounding out the scoring for the Girls was 15th Jaelyn Gibson (24:50.66), 17th Izzy Hughes (25:08.96), and 35th Mallory Brashear (31:01.91).

For the Boys was 10th Sammy Bodine (19:34.59), 11th Hunter Middleton (19:39.55). 14th Arturo Perez (19:42.09), 40th David Walden (23:40.39), 42nd Diego Tovias (24:57.54), and 58th Noah Rogers (30:09.75).

The Girls will represent themselves at the KHSAA State Meet as the Region 7A Champions and the Boys will represent the Region as the 3rd place Team of 8 with 5 Teams Qualifying.

The KHSAA State Cross Country Championship will be contested Saturday November 2 at the Kentucky Horse Park.

The Girls Race at 9:30am. The Boys start at 10:15am
