The Bath County Wildcats improved to 7-8 during the last week of Christmas Break as they beat district rival Fleming County and border county foe Nicholas County.
The Cats had a big first half Friday and held on for a 77-63 win over Fleming County.
The Wildcats outscored the Panthers 40-24 in the first half.
The Wildcats were led in scoring by freshman Zack Otis’ 27 points. Jacob Patton finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Brooks Williams had 11 points and Devon Hunt added 10.
The big story of the game was free throw shooting as the Cats were 38 for 45 for a crisp 80%. Otis was 10 for 12 and Patton was 7 for 11 from the stripe.
Bart Williams’ club improved their 61st district record to 2-1 on the season.

The Wildcats finished Christmas Break at Nicholas County on Saturday and was ready to go as soon as the ball was tipped.
The road team jumped out to a commanding first half lead and never looked back as the Wildcats won their 7th game of the season with an 89-61 victory.
Zack Otis continued his scoring ways as he lead the team with 16 points. Brooks Williams had an efficient 15 points and Jacob Patton finished with 11. Peyton Rogers scored a career high 10 points off the bench.
The nets were on fire for the Cats all game long as they finished 34/60 from the field and 11/21 from behind the arc. They also continued their hot shooting from the free throw line hitting 10 of 13.
The Cats host Menifee County this Thursday night in a girl/boy doubleheader. The girls tip off at 6pm and the boys will start 20 minutes after the girls game has ended.
