The Bath County LadyCats were able to push through the fatigue of playing on three consecutive days to capture a 57-38 victory over Rose Hill Christian on Saturday afternoon. Using full court pressure, the LadyCats were able to bolt out to a 29-8 halftime lead. With the lead in the second half growing to 30 points, head coach Roger Newton was able to go to his bench and allow some of his reserves to get some valuable minutes while resting his starters.
McKenna Moore lead the winners with 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Moore was able to continue her hot shooting from the free throw line, going 6 for 6 at the stripe. During the four game winning streak, Moore has made 23 of 24 free throws. Abigail Henderson added 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. Senior Paige Faudere chipped in with 6 points on two, three-pointers and pulled down 4 rebounds. Junior Kylen Messer pulled down a game-high 9 rebounds and added 5 points. Senior Cailyn Oldfield provided 3 points, senior Kelsey Roberson 2 points, and freshman Morgan Reed 2 points to round out the LadyCats scoring.
The LadyCats extended their winning streak to four games, the longest since the 2014-15 season. Bath County’s next game will be on Tuesday night, January 30th, as they travel to Fleming County.
