Playing on the road in the 12th Region against a formidable foe, the Bath County Lady Cats could not hold off a late charge and hot fourth quarter shooting by the Lady Colts, falling on Saturday afternoon by a score of 62-47.
Trailing 41-37 after the third period, Bath County seemed to go cold from the field and could only muster 10 points in the final period. West Jessamine, however, seemed to heat up from outside, scoring 22 points including 6 of 8 from the foul line. Senior McKenzie Ivery socred 8 of her 11 points in that final period. Junior Faith Osborne chipped in with 8 as well int he 4th period and finished a game-high 20 points.
The LadyCats were lead in scoring by senior, Paige Faudere, with 15 points. Faudere was able to knock down three 3-pointers in 8 attempts and added three steals. Junior Abigail Henderson also knocked in three from behind the arc and finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. McKenna Moore followed with 12 points and 8 assists in the game. Kelsey Roberson chipped in 6 points and 5 rebounds in the loss. The LadyCats will look to regroup and get their first district win in nearly three years when they host Fleming County on Tuesday night.
